Become More Profitable and Sustainable

As one of the nation’s “greenest” cities, Portland encourages its business to follow suit and become more sustainable. There are many resources in the Portland region to assist businesses that are interested in making their operations greener. Whether you want to increase energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, install an ecoroof, switch to solar power, or manage stormwater – there is a resource that can help you.

To start the process of becoming more sustainable, contact the BEST Business Center. In partnership with city and regional government programs and energy utilities, including the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, City of Portland Water Bureau, Metro, Pacific Power, Portland Development Commission and Portland General Electric BEST provides free tools and advice to Portland business to help them become more sustainable. Another great resource for improving your bottom line is saving energy costs through the Energy Trust of Oregon. A non-profit established by Portland-area utilities, the Energy Trust of Oregon provides technical assistance and cash incentives to businesses for energy-efficient upgrades to existing facilities, commercial new construction and major renovations, and production/industrial efficiency projects.
