Clean Energy Industry Buyers & Sellers Forum

A workshop to connect buyers and sellers of clean technology services and supplies will take place on Friday, April 27, 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 pm at the Oregon Convention Center, Hall E.

Co-sponsored by the Portland Development Commission, Columbia River Economic Development Council and Cowlitz Economic Development Council, the Clean Energy Industry Buyers and Sellers Forum will feature leaders in the clean energy market offering a discussion of trends and opportunities in the global clean energy industry, and advice to businesses on how to participate in this sector’s growth.

PDC Executive Director Patrick Quinton said, “Our Clean Tech industry cluster is a high priority with significant opportunities for increased manufacturing and exports. We are committed to helping our local businesses find ways to expand into new markets and create more jobs.”

Funding for the event comes in part from the federal Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge Grant (JIAC) that was awarded in October 2011 to the Portland Regional Clean Tech Advance Initiative. A key purpose of the JIAC grant, which is administered by PDC, is to expand the clean tech supply chain. Supply-chain integration efforts by PDC, CREDC and CEDC attempt to confront the decline in traditional manufacturing head-on by providing new market opportunities for traditional manufacturers centered around the Portland region’s advantages in clean technology.

The Buyers & Sellers Forum will follow the Future Energy Conference on April 25-26, also at the Oregon Convention Center.
